The last great film magician, Ray Harryhausen performs countless illusions in this stop-motion swan song: floods, flying horses, sea beasts, scorpions, invisibility. A reminder that 80s filmmakers gleefully traumatized children (while throwing some T&A their way, too). The kraken finale pales in comparison to Perseus’ match with Medusa.
