Reminiscent of Adaptation. in its satirical metanarrative of Hollywood gimmickry, bombast, and triteness, but, unlike that film, wants to both savor and spit out its critical target. As a result, the movie gets sloppy in its objective, and occasionally can't resolve what it wants—gross-out gags or Method parody.
